VMware Tanzu SKU Updates
End of Availability Notification for existing Tanzu SKUs as of May 6th, 2024

The capabilities of the products are carried forward into the new Tanzu portfolio offerings. Tanzu customers will need to migrate to the new Tanzu SKUs on their next renewal.

If you are an existing customer, but are not up for renewal, no immediate action is required. VMware Tanzu or another division of Broadcom will continue to offer active support through the duration of your subscription period. At the time of renewal, you will benefit from the new Tanzu portfolio offerings outlined in the Specific Program Documentation available in the Broadcom License and Service Terms & Repository site. Your Tanzu Account team will assist in mapping existing licenses to the necessary number of units required for the Tanzu Platform.

VMware Tanzu Product Releases 
In this section, we will add releases information on Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry, Tanzu Platform for Kubernetes, Tanzu Data Services, and Tanzu Spring Essentials Products that are part of Tanzu Platform and Standalone solutions along with its release date and release notes.

VMware Tanzu Platform - Security Updates
VMware Tanzu Platform Hub
Newly enabled application management in Tanzu Hub provides the application discovery to also collect SBOM data and enable CVE on library analysis, so that the application views in the hub show security libraries governance dashboards. This is enabled through adding the CycloneDX plugin.

VMware Tanzu Application Service for VMs (TAS) 
New Denial of Service Vulnerability 
TNZ-2024-0100: GoRouter Denial of Service (CVE-2024-22279) (Medium Severity) - TAS  GoRouter contains an RFC protocol issue that can lead to a denial of service which was privately reported to Tanzu. Patches are available to remediate this vulnerability in affected Tanzu products.

●        5.0 - TAS: 5.0.0 - 5.0.13, IST: 5.0.0 - 5.0.13
●        6.0 - TAS: 6.0.0 - 6.0.3, IST: 6.0.0 - 6.0.3 

Upgrade to the patched release version, or newer:
●        2.11 - TAS: 2.11.58, IST 2.11.52
●        2.13 - TAS: 2.13.40, IST: 2.13.37

VMware Tanzu Data Solutions - Security Updates
VMware Tanzu RabbitMQ®

●         Warm Standby Improvements - Following in the 4Rs mindset of Replication, streams can now be replicated, you can now view warm standby replication metrics and warm standby replication now uses a more secure OAuth2 authentication mechanism 
●        FIPS compliance  - One of the key features exclusive to this 3.13.3 Tanzu RabbitMQ release is compliance with the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2. This compliance provides another level of security to RabbitMQ messaging and FIPS 140-2 is provided ‘out of the box’.

Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated Edition (TKGI)
"failed to mount" as ext4 "already contains unknown data" on cluster workloads in TKGI/PKS clusters - Workloads running on TKGI/PKS clusters may become stuck in ContainerCreating or Init state. This error is presented due to disk corruption, which could happen in situations wherein the disks are not unmounted gracefully.

Repairing Bosh Created Persistent Disks of TKGI Worker Nodes - TKGI worker nodes are deployed by bosh and have at least three disks attached to it when no Kubernetes persistent volumes are being used. 

VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (Management Cluster)
Old kube-vip pods get stuck in Terminating state after a TKGm cluster upgrade - After performing a TKGm upgrade, old kube-vip pods can get stuck in "Terminating" state. The issue has been seen in TKGm legacy clusters that have been upgraded to v2.3.x and/or v2.4.x.
